Materials You'll Need

Here is the complete list of supplies we've used:

In our designs, we chose a combination of white and Easter-colored sinuous sections, with crushed glass areas in between, to create a geode-inspired layout that maximizes contrast and balance. Pouring the white sections right after the crushed glass ones lets us immediately define the colored sections in the background we've already painted. And voilà, the basic layout is easily done.

Step 1: Adding Crushed Glass

Once you have primed the entire base with acrylic paint and decided on your geode-inspired layout, you can begin by sprinkling glass chips onto your chosen areas. Use a needle-nosed applicator to apply adhesive to the wood base wherever you want the glass to sparkle. Shape your unique pattern, then softly cascade the chips over the glue.
No need to stress about perfect placement. You can easily nudge the chips into position with a stir stick, gloved finger, or bead placer for a look that's uniquely yours.

When your design feels just right, lock the crushed glass in place by adding a few drops of adhesive on top. This secures every piece for the next step. If you miss a spot, no worries—it will be sealed perfectly with the final resin flood coat.

Step 2: Pouring the White Resin Areas

Put on your gloves, respirator, and apron, and get ready to mix up some magic. Mix a small batch of epoxy resin—we used about 100g (3oz) for a total of 4 eggs — with the white pigment paste or pearlescent white pigment of your choice.
Once your epoxy and pigment are fully blended, let the resin sit for 5–10 minutes until it thickens. This thicker texture gives you more control and helps the resin hug the edges rather than run off.

When your resin reaches the perfect thickness, it’s time to pour! Use a stir stick to gently guide the white resin into the spaces between your sparkling glass designs, filling every gap. Repeat for each colorful egg you create.

After finishing the white sections, use a heat torch sparingly to pop any air bubbles. Move quickly and avoid lingering in one spot to keep your design flawless.

Pro Tip: You can do steps 2 and 3 in one pour if you like your edges to blend! Waiting for the first portion to cure helps create a more defined section.

Step 3: Pouring the colored Resin Areas

Now comes the most exciting part: pouring the colored resin! Once the white areas are cured and firm, get ready to add a burst of color. Divide the epoxy resin into small cups and blend in your favorite MEYSPRING resin pigments

In this step, we used:

Let the mixture rest until it thickens, just like before. Once ready, carefully pour the vibrant resin into the colored spaces on each egg. The cured white sections and sparkling glass will guide the colors into place, creating natural, flowing patterns.

Use a stir stick or gloved finger to gently spread the colors, making sure every edge and glass area is beautifully covered.

When your colors are set and the resin has thickened, add texture by gently dragging a stir stick across the surface. This creates movement and those signature geode-inspired flow lines.

Finish by gently torching the freshly poured epoxy to release any air bubbles and encourage the formation of beautiful cell patterns.

Step 4: Add Linework and Embellishments

After your final pour has cured, it’s time to add those dazzling finishing touches. Outline sections or highlight shapes with acrylic-based paint markers in complementary colors. Adding glitter liners, gilding paint, or rhinestones for extra sparkle is an option too—anything that brings your Easter Egg vision to life!

Pro Tip: Wait for each line to fully dry before layering another nearby to avoid smudging!

Step 5: Seal It with a Shine – Final Resin Top Coat

For that lovely glassy finish and to lock in your details, add a clear flood coat of epoxy resin over the entire surface of your eggs. You can also drizzle a little over any loose crushed glass.

Once poured, use a heat torch or rubbing alcohol to remove any bubbles and allow this final layer to cure fully.

If you prepped the back with tape or latex, simply remove for a clean edge, or sand down any drips once the epoxy is cured.

Ready to Shine!

Now your colorful Resin Geode Style Easter Eggs are finished and ready to impress! Display them in a basket, on a mantel, or give them as gifts. These little creations will add joy and magic to your spring.
