Care & handling

Keep jars or resealable bags tightly closed in a dry location, protected from moisture and contamination. Avoid breathing pigment dust and protect your eyes. Follow the pigment documentation and your resin manufacturer’s instructions; test a small batch through the full cure. See our pigment FAQs and resin-art safety guide.

HELP & GUIDANCE

Your pigment questions, answered

What is Mica Powder?

Mica is a naturally occurring mineral that is finely ground into a shimmering powder. Pigment coatings, such as Iron Oxide and Titanium Dioxide, give otherwise translucent mica different colors. MEYSPRING also offers real metal pigments and synthetic mica glitter, which have different compositions. Check the specific product page and documentation for the pigment you are using.

Do MEYSPRING pigments expire?

Our mica powders, true metallic pigments, and glitters do not expire. When stored under appropriate conditions, MEYSPRING pigments can remain usable for a long time if they are protected from moisture and contamination. To keep them in good condition, keep jars or resealable bags tightly closed in a dry location.

What materials can be colored using these pigments?

MEYSPRING pigments are inert particles that disperse through a compatible medium rather than dissolving, making them highly versatile. They can create depth and a rich metallic or pearlescent finish, especially in clear or translucent media. Depending on the specific pigment, applications include clear gels, acrylic paints, epoxy and UV resin, automotive paint, varnishes, lacquer, nail polish, watercolor paint, and much more. Check the specific product’s guidance and test a small sample with your chosen medium. Our pigment FAQs cover additional uses and product-specific limitations.
