We’re excited to introduce the winner of MEYSPRING’s Artist of the Month for September 2023: Stacy from AlexAnna Art! Her genius resin geode hacks and superb pours catch our attention repeatedly and have taken social media by storm with several viral posts. From resin coaster dirty pours to lifelike resin geode wall art, her color choices and designs are always on point!
Meet the Artist
AlexAnna Art stems from two sisters, Anastasia (Stacy) and Alexandria. From there, a thriving art business has grown, showcasing resin art that also found a niche, selling handy “Bling Kits” to other resin geode enthusiasts! Tell us more about yourself!
I am a proud Mom of two boys, and even though I'm the one raising them, I can always count on them to challenge me to grow in wonderful ways as well. I am passionate about living a healthier lifestyle. Working out at the gym, hiking, being in nature, cooking, and, of course, time out with the girls are some of my favorite things to do.
What made you want to become an artist?
I've always felt connected to art throughout my life. Creativity has been running through me since the day I was born, as it was the same for the line of women in my family before me. My grandmother inspired me when working with her huge Hammitt 45" weaving loom that made gorgeous rugs. It seemed magical, and I wanted nothing more than to be right by her side, learning all I could.
How long have you been working with resin?
I found Epoxy Resin about 5 years ago. Since that first day, I fell in love with resin and immersed myself in the craft, researching, crafting, failing, and succeeding until my skills were built.
What made you choose MEYSPRING pigments?
MEYSPRING Pigments was one of the first pigment brands I tried. I was lucky to find such high-quality pigments from the start of my resin journey. I tested other pigment brands throughout the years, and although most worked well, none of them compared to the beautiful concentrated pigmented colors from MEYSPRING.
I have become a loyal #1 fan of MEYSPRING! Not only are the pigments fabulous, but the way they help artists grow is wonderful! They are always there to collaborate and support artists to help them grow.
What is your favorite MEYSPRING pigment color?
My all-time favorite color pigment is Imperial Emerald. There is something so unique and special about this deep, gorgeous shade. It's like no other!
Where do you find your inspiration?
Nature has always been #1 on this list. One way nature has inspired me is in geode art. The earth creates natural stones and crystals that can be replicated through resin geode art. This process of creation has become a staple in my work with resin.
How much time do you dedicate to your craft?
The passion I hold for resin art continues to drive me. Sometimes, I feel like I could spend a lifetime working on one piece, barely stopping to eat. Those art pieces bring me a sense of connection to the universe. But on a regular everyday basis, I spend about 5-8 hours growing AlexAnnaArt, between the art I create, our product line of Bling Kits, and our social media pages, which teach fellow artists hacks and tricks in resin art.
What are your goals for your artistic journey?
My short-term goals are to reach new resin lovers and artists to help be a part of the inspiration of resin art. I also aim to have our social channels grow, making our product line reach new artists, and my future larger projects will hit the floor. My long-term goal is to move into a larger space.
What is your most significant "Aha moment" while creating resin art?
My biggest “aha moment” was creating and sharing a Pink Amethyst Geode Crystal resin art panel that went viral on TikTok. I created stunning artwork that could inspire others, and wanted to share more of my process.
Now, we share hacks, tips, and tricks on our social media pages and love to help other artists grow their skills.
What advice would you like to share with aspiring artists?
My best advice to aspiring resin artists is never to stop having fun with your art. Don't compare yourself to other artists. You are at your own place in your journey. Growth in your skills can happen fairly quickly if you keep your goals at the forefront of your mind and stay focused on you and where you're going.
