Artist of the Month – October 2025: @artbylizziestudio

This October, we’re thrilled to introduce our MEYSPRING Artist of the Month: Elizabeth Armas, known by Lizzie of @artbylizziestudio — a talented Cuban-American resin artist, industrial designer, and art instructor who captures the unique beauty of the ocean in every piece she creates.

Her studio is located in Miami, but her artwork is featured in galleries and stores along the East Coast of South Florida, including Port Saint Lucie and West Palm Beach. Discover more about her story and the stunning pieces she creates with MEYSPRING Pigments

The spark that started it all

Lizzie’s artistic journey began a few years ago (2022), driven by a deep desire to create something meaningful and beautifully connected to her love for the ocean and her need to express herself creatively. What started as simple curiosity quickly became a powerful passion, a form of expression, and a means of inner healing. Over time, that passion evolved into a growing business and a mission to spread the love for this amazing medium through her artwork and in-person workshops.

“As I began working with resin, I became fascinated by its movement, transparency, and the endless ways to create with it. Resin gave me a purpose — it allowed me to step away from the routine, connect with my inner self, and focus on my small creative bubble.” | @artbylizziestudio

A glimpse into her world

Outside the studio, Lizzie has a career as a professional medical coder. She also enjoys working out, traveling, meditating, and spending peaceful mornings by the sea. Living in Miami provides the ideal setting for her balanced lifestyle and her passion for creating.

“I am originally from a warm and expressive culture that taught me to appreciate beauty in small things and to live life with passion and gratitude.” | @artbylizziestudio

She also takes part in weekend markets in South Florida, where her artwork is available for purchase and she is there to greet you in person.

The ocean as muse

Born and raised in Cuba, she has always been deeply inspired by the ocean. Her talent is turning the sea's mysticism into wall art and home décor that bring peace and tranquility indoors.

“Every wave, every shade of blue tells a story of peace and freedom. Creating with resin allows me to capture that beauty and bring a little piece of the sea into people’s homes.” | @artbylizziestudio

Why MEYSPRING

She appreciates the consistency and shimmer of MEYSPRING pigments, which give her artwork a professional, long-lasting finish. Her favorites? The blue and green tones, which echo the sea, ranging from Opulent Tanzanite to Turquoise Blue and Mermaid Dust. She also tries warmer tones, such as Wine Red and Rose Quartz, when exploring alternative color palettes.

“I chose MEYSPRING pigments because of their excellent quality and resistance to heat exposure. The colors stay vibrant and do not change over time.” | @artbylizziestudio

In the flow

Lizzie dedicates several hours each week to her resin projects. Some days involve focused sessions, while others are full weekends of immersion. Even when she's away from the studio, ideas keep flowing—new colors, textures, and ways to evoke the ocean. However, the days she spends creating or teaching others her resin art techniques are always better days.

“Through my art, I capture the essence of the sea. Its calm. Its power. Its beauty. I love sharing this passion in my classes, where I help others relax, create, and connect with their inner artist.” | @artbylizziestudio

Dreams and goals

When asked about her artistic goals and future dreams as a Resin Artist, here's what she said:

"My goal is to keep expanding creatively and to share the beauty and calmness of the ocean through my art. I want to inspire others to connect with their own creativity, and teach them the joy of working with resin... In the long term, I hope to grow my brand Artbylizziestudio, teach more workshops, and exhibit my art in galleries and spaces where people can experience the emotion and serenity behind each piece." | @artbylizziestudio

Moments of magic

Most artists and crafters experience "Aha Moments" during their creative journey that help them understand a specific medium or simply keep them engaged in daily practice because of the satisfaction those magic moments bring. For Lizzie, that happens when she gives birth to resin beaches, and she also cherishes the moment when her workshop students create their first perfect wave. That spark never gets old.

“The most magical moment happens when I create waves with the heat gun. Watching those beautiful C shaped cells open and move feels mesmerizing. It is like the ocean coming alive right before my eyes.” | @artbylizziestudio

Tips for aspiring resin artists

“Be patient and let the resin teach you. Every pour is different and that is the beauty of it. Do not rush. Observe how colors flow. How heat transforms them. How layers build depth. Mistakes often become the most beautiful parts of your piece.” | @artbylizziestudio
