Congrats, Jean Victor Anderson!
We are delighted to share with you MEYSPRING’s Artist of the Month, Jean Victor Anderson! Jean is an incredible resin artist based in Wisconsin who creates enchanting seascapes using MEYSPRING Pigments. From ocean-inspired resin trays, trinket dishes, and tables to uniquely decorated guitars, she uses a variety of striking color schemes and embellishments! Her eye for textures and her skill in emphasizing them make the results even more lifelike.
Seeing each of her creations and the joy they bring to her local and social media communities is inspiring! Most recently, Jean repurposed a guitar to be the canvas for a gorgeous seascape in which she donated to a charity called Guitars For Vets, a “national non-profit with the mission to share the healing power of music with our Veterans.”
Jean definitely is the perfect embodiment of our mission to empowering creative and healthy lifestyles!
Meet the Artist
We’ve spoken with Jean for some Q&A about her art and inspiration!
How long have you been working with resin?
I started working with resin a little over 2 years ago. I was doing abstract and fluid art, and a resin topcoat just made everything pop! Then I tried ocean art and have been totally hooked ever since.
What is your favorite pigment color?
I definitely can't pick just one - Turquoise Blue and Tropical Blue, Peach Gold and Mermaid Dust are staples. In addition, the new Geode Art Collection by PourGirl Art is absolutely amazing! Dusklight Crystal, Indigo Obelisk, and Opulent Tanzanite are quickly becoming new favorites.
What makes/made you choose MEYSPRING pigments?
What I first noticed about MEYSPRING was your involvement and support of the artist community. I was so impressed by that! I also love that your collections include a variety of beautiful colors at an affordable price! The collections are a great way to get started or try new colors without spending a lot.
Where do you find your inspiration and/or motivation?
We are all drawn to the beauty of nature, the feeling of wonder and tranquility it possesses. I strive to capture those emotions in my work and bring nature indoors through wall art and unique home decor.
Any words of advice for artists that are wanting to create resin art?
Do your research and go into it with an open mind. It takes time and practice to understand resin and master techniques. Enjoy working with and getting to know the medium. Soon you'll be amazed at what you can create.
