Congrats "Composed Chaos, Art by Jen"!
We are ecstatic to share with you MEYSPRING’s Artist of the Month, Composed Chaos, Art by Jen! Jennifer Landis, the talent behind the “chaos,” has taught herself the fluid mixed media art methods.
Jen creates beautiful, natural-toned pieces of all styles that incorporate a plethora of interesting textures and embellishments. Her color schemes really enhance the real gems and shells creating incredibly pleasing to the eye pieces when she debuts them poolside in the sun!
“As a nature lover, she is inspired by the beauty of the sky, water, and earth's metallic minerals. Using nature's color palette with added pops of color, she attempts to capture the beauty of the world around us in abstract form. Jennifer's artwork has a flow that is often described as "calming" to the senses. She hopes that her artwork conveys a sense of wonder and inspiration to others.”

She’s always trying new techniques and sharing the process and results, even if they didn’t quite go to plan. Her willingness to show how she learns from errors and makes something even more beautiful from them is highly inspiring and encouraging to artists of all levels. At MEYSPRING, we love following along her journey of creating beautiful pieces and experiments
Meet the Artist
We’ve spoken with Jen for some Q&A about her art and inspiration!
How long have you been working with resin?
I’ve been working with resin for about two years now. I first became obsessed with all the gorgeous geode-inspired coasters that were popping up all over Instagram. Once I started, I was instantly hooked!
What is your favorite pigment color?
My favorite pigment combination is Silver Druzy and White Pearl. These colors beautifully complement the paua shell that I love to use in my textured pieces. I also love both the Opulent Tanzanite and Imperial Emerald pigments from the new Geode Art Collection by Pour Girl Art. Both colors have such a rich jewel-like glow and create a gorgeous contrast when used with other lighter pigments in the collection.
What makes/made you choose MEYSPRING pigments?
Meyspring pigments never disappoint! They mix effortlessly, and I love that the colors are based on natural gemstones and minerals. This makes it so easy to plan a design with all of the natural elements I use as textures in my resin artwork.
Where do you find your inspiration and/or motivation?
Nature is my primary source of inspiration. I always say, “nature is art!” There is so much beauty in the world around us, and I love to mirror that beauty in my artwork.
Any words of advice for artists that are wanting to create resin art?
I began my art journey 4 years ago with fluid acrylics. I think that helped me transition to resin art more easily. If you’re intimidated by resin, I would start by experimenting with fluid acrylics to find your unique style. Secondly, take the time to watch and learn from other resin artists, either on Instagram or YouTube. Once you get started, the obsession begins! Work on small projects first, like coasters, to get a feel for how resin moves and changes as it cures. Once you’re comfortable, you can move on to larger projects.
I like to share my process with others, and I’m happy to answer questions from beginners. I will always remember how helpful other resin artists were when I was first starting out. I strongly believe in the idea of “artist supporting artists” and “community over competition.” There is such a generosity of spirit within the resin art world! And Meyspring, as a company, fully embodies that generosity and supportive spirit!
